There are leaders—like Eric Visselli—who are chosen to pilot teams of professionals because of the expertise they have developed through time and the hard work they have demonstrated in their chosen fields. There are some, on the other hand, who are only branded as “leaders” but do not produce the results expected from them because of their sloppy and careless way of executing decisions and weighing consequences.

With this issue at hand, it is important to know what separates good leaders from bad ones—something that could easily be explicated through Viselli’s example.

Good leadership comes from the spirited display of communication skills that a person in charge exudes because—for most—communication is that thin line that signifies if an instruction is relayed efficiently or not. In Eric Visselli’s case, he is able to reach his subordinates because he takes the time to understand all his co-workers’ knowledge, skills, and expertise. He studies the matters at hand and explains them to each of his colleagues in order to successfully devise plans that can generate results.

Because of his continued brilliance in the field of financial management and methodical display of leadership, Viselli became one of the most respected employees of the Hamilton Sundstrand Auxiliary Power Systems.
